06 Learning Styles Reflection

This is a reflection of my opinion from the previous page entitled "Learning Styles". As a university student, this topic on Learning Styles was not supposed to be difficult. But what made it look not so simple was the creation of the Google slides. It was the first time I have encountered such task and I am happy I did. Learning styles was known to me through various courses pursued thus far in my elementary education degree programme, but completing this assignment, allowed me to research further on other learning styles that was not known to me.

What I knew about learning styles was that they are a set of cognitive, emotional, characteristic and physiological factors that serve as relatively stable indicators of how a learner perceives, interacts with, and responds to the learning environment. This is vitally important to me especially for my studies, as I must be able to understand each learning style and how to properly implement them in each lesson I may present. Some examples of Learning Styles models that I was reminded of in the presentations include: VAK Model, Experiential Cycle and Multiple Intelligence.

It was a pleasure viewing the presentations from my other classmates and I must say they all delivered excellent slide presentations. There was sufficient use of images, videos with sound and text in the presentations and they were properly emphasized. The themes used for the slides were relevant and was not difficult to view. Thus far, there was just one presentation that needs improvement and I trust that my classmate would adjust to suit. Other than that, the others were very well complied.

From this task, I must extend my appreciation and gratitude to my classmates and the lecturer for the implementation. Because of this I was able to enhance my knowledge on other models of learning styles. I was able to go in-depth in them. The one I am most fond of is the model developed by Neil Fleming which is the VAK Model. I was secretly using this model within teaching practicum from the various activities for the pupils and researching on this model it gave me a better insight on the proper way this model should be implemented.

I also gained information and experience on the creation of Google slides of which I do hope to use in future presentations, even in the classroom as a part of media. It was fun having to create something of your own and knowing that the world may view it. The best part of completing this slide presentation was that it saves the presentation for itself so you have a better confidence that your work is not liable of being lost. I trust that the information provided will impact you the reader in some way and it would encourage some you to be excited in learning styles.
