·         Students are acquainted with singing due their prior experiences with nursery rhymes.
·         Students are acquainted with Christmas carols from hearing the radio and seeing them on television.

STATE OBJECTIVES
Audience: 
This is a standard one class where the students are auditory learners.
Behaviour:
Students would sing along and listen to the song on a CD player or on Laptop
Condition: 
This lesson will be done indoors
Degree: 
This lesson will be done in 45minutes and 100% of the students should be able to sing along and learn the word to ‘Joy To The World’

SELECT METHODS, MEDIA AND MATERIALS
Christmas Carol CD
Christmas Carol Song Lyrics
CD Player
Or Laptop, Projector, Speakers

UTILIZE METHODS, MEDIA AND MATERIALS
·         Teacher prepares and provides students with a paper with the song selected.
·         Teacher engages discussion with students about Christmas carols by asking questions?  What is a Christmas carol?  Name some Christmas carols that they know.
·         Teacher would then introduce the song by playing it on the CD player or Laptop showing the following video.
·         Teacher hands out papers so that they may be able to follow along and sing.
·         Teacher would allow students to sing the several times students are acquainted with the words and the melody of the song.

REQUIRE LEARNER PARTICIPATION
Students will:-
·         Learn the words along with the melody of ‘Joy To The World’.
·         Learn the melody of the song by clapping and keep timing with the rhythm of the song
 Evaluate and Revise
·         During the class teacher would observe students to ensure everyone’s full participation.
·         Students would be allowed to keep the words of the song for them to practice.
